Managing Anxiety

We are running a free course that will help you to understand more about Anxiety; the effects of anxiety, how it impacts your life and how you could develop positive coping techniques to improve your every-day life

DATE: Thursday 4th January

TIME: 10.00 to 12.00

VENUE: Basingstoke Mind, RG21 5NL

X 6 weeks: Thurs 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th Jan, 1st & 8th Feb. All days need to be attended to ensure you benefit fully from the course. Please advise your tutor or admin of any absences.

 

This course is to understand how anxiety can affect us and how to minimise the negative effects by developing positive coping methods to manage it.

What you will learn:

  1. Define what anxiety is and identify at least 3 ways it can affect us.
  2. Explain how emotions and feelings impact on our behaviours.
  3. Identify at least 1 negative thought pattern and create a plan to manage them.
  4. Compare at least 3 positive coping techniques to manage anxiety.
  5. Evaluate and plan next step for progression in personal development.

 

Who is this course for? Anyone who would like to improve their wellbeing.

Previous knowledge/experience: no previous knowledge or experience is necessary.

What you will learn: How anxiety affects us and how to minimise the negative effects of anxiety on everyday life.

How you will learn: Through a work booklet, discussions and individual reflection.

How you will be assessed: Through observation, RARPA, questioning and the work booklet

For the first session you will need to buy/bring: A pen and a willingness to learn
